bezel bracelet by Jill MacKay

There was a quick giveaway in Andrew Thornton's blog. Sixth person is the winner. And I was lucky 6! The bracelet is made by Jill Mackay - little bezels with beautiful black and white curls inside. I didn't add any embellishments, I love this design as is. So I attached 3D glaze into bezels for getting a glass effect.

Thank you Andrew for this generous gift! It's really beautiful! Thank you Jill for your very beautiful work!

how to make lace earrings

Art deco inspired lace earrings. I think that lace and freshwater pearls are great partners. It's easy to do yourself :) I used lace, freshwater pearls, textile glue, earwires and some findings (chain, pins, jump rings, filigree bases).
First step: cut out lace motifs you like. Then spread the back side and edges with fabric glue. Keep pieces flat until glue is dry. Gluing makes lace motifs more durable and less fragile.
Second step: attach earwires using round nose pliers. You can embellish earrings with beads, chains, charms as you like.

Textile glue must be transparent. If you have not textile glue, you can use white glue (PVA): mix 1 part of water to 1 part of glue (proportion 1:1), spread this mix to lace motifs and let dry.

These earrings shown on the photos are available in my shop ArtStitch on Etsy.

Mermaid's set

I bought 10 strands of freshwater pearls from the shop 8Seasons. Now I have a lot of work to use all of them. This design I named "Mermaid's Collar", the necklace is made in herringbone and coraling technique. I've added shell spikes for more satin shimmering. Tiny golden daisy beads add more sparkling.

Gold plated S-clasp is easy to use.

And finished look on a model:

freshwater pearl set

The set have a new home. It was made for Marina from Suvor-off.com. Sterling silver clips with beautiful shiny freshwater pearls are comfortable for sensitive ears. They measure about 1.5 cm (0.6") long. And this amazing necklace is very-very long. There are 189 beautiful big freshwater pearls in the necklace. Pearl size is 8 mm (0.32") and the necklace measures about 160 cm (63") long. It's really long.

Used real freshwater pearls and blue zircon rondelles.

All pearls are knotted, there is a knot in between each and every pearl. That knot does a couply great things: It keeps the pearls separated slightly so they don't rub against each other and break off the outer shell. The knot also keeps your pearls safe in case you accidentally break the necklace. If the strand breaks, only one pearl falls off the strand, instead of 188 pearls rolling all over the floor!

My Workspace: Circles

This beautiful fabric I have bought in Spain. I'm in love with these cute circles. I think it will be a summer dress with short sleeves. May be I need a new accessory also. May be a beadwoven bracelet? So I painted a pattern in beading programm and get started with the new piece.

Using Toho seed beads size 11/o and Nymo thread. Clasp will be toggle bar with a loop or button. I don't know yet.

freshwater pearl set

This set was made for a custom order. I have used big freshwater pearls size 8-9 mm and some rondelles with green zircones. The earring measures about 3 cm including sterling silver leverback ear wire. The necklace is about 62 cm long with sterling silver lobster clasp.

All pearls are knotted, there is a knot in between each and every pearl. That knot does a couply great things: It keeps the pearls separated slightly so they don't rub against each other and break off the outer shell. The knot also keeps your pearls safe in case you accidentally break the necklace. If the strand breaks, only one pearl falls off the strand, instead of 62 pearls rolling all over the floor!
